The Full Story
Friends Across Nations was created by Mischa Rutledge, a multi-racial high-school student. This organization was created to use what many people often perceive as a divider into something that brings everyone closer together. FANs is not only a place to share your own story, but also a place to learn and experience the world around from hundreds of different perspective, to dig deeper into the pieces of history that shape us, and to learn more about the people around you.

Mischa Rutledge

Hi! My name is Mischa Rutledge. I am a Pakistani-American, and I found the need for this website early on in my life. Growing up surrounded by different cultures, religions, and traditions; I often became frustrated with the lack of understanding people had surrounding cultures other than their own. I am so excited to launch something that takes a step in the direction towards fixing this.
Anika Gopal
Chief Technology Officer
Hey! My name is Anika Gopal and I am a sophomore at Hockaday. I gained an enjoyment for technology and coding four years ago, and taught myself Python, Java, CSS, and HTML. Recently, I started a branch of Girls who Code at my high school, and have continued to spread my love for this club. I am extremely excited to run the technology aspect of FANS. I enjoy learning and hearing about other people's cultures and stories and I can't wait to be a part of this movement.
Anaiya Saxena

Hey! My name is Anaiya Saxena and I am the Chief Content Officer! Since I was young I’ve loved creating and working on many different types of projects, so I am extremely excited to work with the FANS group to create engaging and fun media! I’m a huge sports fan, and as social media has grown over the past years I’ve been able to watch and learn how team pages have developed to create amazing content for their fans all over the world! The inclusive content they create inspires me to do the same because FANS is a home to all!
Georgia LaGrone

Hi! My name is Georgia La Grone and I am your Chief Philanthropy Officer at FANS. I have always deeply loved volunteer work and giving back to my community. In the past, I have volunteered for Refugee Resources, a non-profit organization that helps refugee children learn how to read. Through that experience, I have learned so much about other cultures and I can’t wait to help spread knowledge through our community about unique perspectives and keep learning about people’s experiences!

My name is Reagan Graeme and I am delighted to serve as the Chief Operating Officer for Friends Across Nations. Through my travels across over 50 different nations, I have gained not only substantial knowledge about different cultures but also a unique apprecation for distinct cultures. With this experience, I understand that Friends Across Nations can facilitate diverse friendships and an increase in cultural awareness, both of which are key in an era of increasing globalization. I am excited to work with the Friends Across Nations team and help spread cultural awareness.
